The O-1 Visa, routinely called the superstar visa, is for persons of extraordinary ability. Individuals with an extraordinary ability in sciences, arts, business, athletics, education, motion picture and television are eligible for an O-1 visa, which will allow the individual to enter the United States temporarily. The O-1 visa is reserved for individuals who are considered to be at the top of their field. O-1 status is initially granted for three years, but one year extensions are available. The spouses and unmarried children of O-1 visa holders may accompany the O-1 visa holder to the United States with an O-3 visa. Additionally, O-2 visas are available to support staff of O-1 visa holders whose area of expertise is athletics, entertainment or motion picture and television. The spouses and unmarried children of O-2 visa holders are eligible for O-3 status as well. We have handled O-1 visas for ballet dancers, ballroom dancers, rock musicians, painters and martial arts fighters. < Back to General Employment-Based Immigration Information "Jay took over my case for an O-1 visa from another attorney and from the first minute he was a huge improvement. He was always very quick to reply to any questions I had and made himself available to me to consult with over the phone whenever it was convenient for me. I would highly recommend Jay and his team to anyone." |
