USCIS Promotes the Naturalization Process through the Citizenship Public Education and Awareness Initiative
The Citizenship Public Education and Awareness Initiative is promoting awareness of the rights, responsibilities, and importance of United States citizenship, and the free naturalization preparation resources available to permanent residents and immigrant-serving organizations.
Through this effort, USCIS seeks to increase awareness of the rights, the responsibilities, the importance of US citizenship, the knowledge of the naturalization process & requirements, and the available citizenship preparation resources. Additionally, USCIS is encouraging eligible permanent residents to consider the benefits of US Citizenships for themselves, and educate eligible permanent residents about the steps they can take to apply for citizenship when permanent residents prepare for the naturalization process.
